Finally some swell and decent conditions. The last 3 days had torrential rain with on shore winds, but today was sunny, and very light wind, and some swell!
Swell was from the East and a decent size. There was some NE wind but it was very light. Waves were a little bumpy, but fairly clean and 6 foot+ wave faces on the sets. Water is a beautiful temperature but with the rain last few days no doubt the water quality was dubious.
Mostly left handers coming through out from the northern headland, with a few short right handers out wider. Caught some nice waves, got hammered on a few, but had a fun session. A few more sessions like this and my surfing fitness will start to return. About 10-15 surfers out but no real problem getting waves.
There was a big school of mullet hanging around which was a little spooky because where there's a school of mullet, its likely there are some larger creatures close by...
