The wind was pretty off-shore so it was pretty tricky to decide what to rigg...I was in doubt to rigg 4,2 or 4,7 but decided to play it save and rigg bigger. We wher going to the Oosterbank wich lays 400-500 meters offshore. Most times I went the I rigged to small.
It appears to be the right choice..going out to the bank I hardly had power and it was difficult to keep floating and get there..When there the wind was gusty. Espacially around the north part of the bank, where the current is stronger I think, the lake of power was anytime when sailing out.
On the bank the wind was right off shore, so you could sail out very far, turn and just ride the lines...wave started pretty small like waist high, in the last 30 minutes, the wind increased, and the waves got to Shoulderhigh. The last 30 minutes where the best!!! Steap ramps, hit the lipp pretty good sometimes falling down with it, so uch fun! One Wave broke on the back of my boom while bottu turning fot the lipp, just holding on and go..
Saw 4 seals also today!!
So it was a great day!
