Information about Pagham, what's done there and who does it
, Freestyle, Waves, Bump n Jump
Windsurfing Pagham is one of the better sideshore spots on the south coast as it faces SE which gives sideshore winds and kicks up some mellow sand bar waves in S-SSW-SW. Cross-off is WSW and very X-off in a W so needs a good breeze for wavesailing. Also one of the few south coast venues which is not bad in a NE-E. Best sailed mid tide on the push for waves. The tide drops a long way so be prepared for a trek at low tide. High tide has a bit of a shore break and kills the waves. It is a great spot for wavesailing in a strong SSW-SW-WSW when the swell in the Channel is pumping - but is also great spot for intermediates in the summer.
Pagham rocks in a swell and a S= x-on, SSW= x-shore, SW=x-shore with a touch off. Very strong - F7-8-9 Westerlies also work but very cross off but great with a swell. NE is sailable as sideshore-ish on port tack.
