A nice southerly wind today. Checked out Long Reef and Narrabeen and settled at Narrabeen.
The wind was lighter than Saturday, but less gusty, and felt like there might have been more east in it. I decided to go with the 9m Blade Trigger again even though the wind was lighter. There was loads of whitecaps and it looked like I'd struggle holding down the power of the 12m BWS Noise. I'd say the wind was just under 20 knots in general, with some variations up and down. Used my Best Spark 134 twintip board.
Went out first up with the lines set on the middle knots. Felt slightly underdone, so came in and reset lines on the most powered up knots. That made the difference... the rest of the session was fine - well powered in general, some strong gusts requiring a little effort to hold down, and a few lulls requiring a little work with the kite. Another guy went out on a 12m but I was fine on the 9m. I wore a short wetsuit to counter the massive rash above my hips caused by my harness on Saturday.
Great session. Really felt good today. Felt like my stance was better, I countered the chop without any problems, was cruising way upwind despite the lower wind. Tried some jumps again today - not as high as Saturday, but managed a few decent jumps and some major wipeouts, as well as landing a few. Tried riding toeside a couple of times without great success, but managed a few short runs toeside and some nice carving turns from toeside to heelside.
An awesome session. I am contentedly tired and sore from a great afternoon on the water.
