I think this is the 5th straight day of big Southerly swells and offshore winds, with some day to day variations in size and wind (massive yesterday apparently). Unfortunatley I've not been able to take advantage every daay but a window of opportunity opened up this afternoon...
The swell is still almost dead South with a healthy size and period. Went out at South Newport again but today the crowd was much thinner than the weekend, typically around half a dozen during the session. At one stage a cleanup set thinned the crowd out to 2 for about 10 minutes.
Waves were still nice and big - 6-8 foot faces. There was a bit of bump on the waves but nothing too severe. Caught some really nice, big waves. I mostly just zipped fast and straight along the wave without any turns. Its a nice place to catch bigger waves that are not too intimidating.
A really great session. Wish I had some free time tomorrow to try and catch some more of this swell.
