Again the Forecast gave strong wind and it was!!
On the parking place I heard the was getting a little less, so I took my 4.2 ...when I just entered the beach Barry came off the water to take his 3.7.. Barry usually sials bigger sails, so I walked with him to switch immediately to 3,7 also..
Good choice!! 3,7 was even overpowered in the beginning in the gusts but after 20 minutes the wind got a bit friendlier (or I got used to it ;) ) and I could really enjoy the nice big waves!! The waves were coming in in sets and the sets could get to logo-high...If you picked the wave up on top of the bank (upwind) enough you started with this size and ended next to the bank to shoulder..
It was really crowded so you had to be really carefull every ridenot to hit a fellow surfer, riding and slaloming the waves made the riding not always easy and lots of time I couldn't get to the lipp and was forced to do the cutbak earlier for not hitting anyone. Still very nice to be and ride these big waves (FINALLY!!!)
I did take some footage, but again the waves look lot smaller then they actually were..also with the headview the cutback not always show how great the were...but I remember!! HA HA
In the end the wind got less and the waves faded becouse of the higher tide...it was GREAT!!
