Swell: 3m S @ 11s Tide: H 1.38m @ 1:34pm Wind: 20kn+ S-SE
A large south swell and strong southerly wind left few options for a surf. I went out at Newport Reef. There was a lot of wind and water movement and I seemed to spend most of my session paddling to stay in a decent position. It proved a frustrating session struggling to get onto waves, with a resulting very low wave count. The waves I did score were solid in the 6-8 foot region and nice long rides.
There were a few kiters and windsurfers out. I think I'd like to try kiting here in these sort of conditions one day.
A few big waves, but a low wave count keeps the overall stoke factor from this session down...
