Well, this was other "all wrong day". The forecast was very good NW 20+ kts, high tide 2:30pm.
Plan made to get there around 12:30, but I lost again to the washing machine and get there around 2pm. My Evo 9m had a small hole and I planned to fix it before go in the water, but because I get there too late I decide to have a go with my daughter 6m Airush DNA, I new will be difficult to get upwind but I thought I could make it.
I start very well, get a good first upwind and avoid go to much to the left side as I know the wind there die, I came back (right side) and almost clean the mangrove. Back to the left and... the wind die a little, fast transition and I almost was in the same spot, not bad, let's try again. (left) The wind get a little strong but the angle was a little bad and I decide to go a little deep in the left side trying push a little the gust.
Big mistake, the wind die and the transition (right) was not so fast and I went back to the start point, let start all again, (left) the upwind was not so bad, I lost control one or two times because I was working the kite a lot and keep it in the power zone, but the transition was bad, I fell and the kite fell also, this doesn't look good, (right) I tried to get back in the start point, but no, I was in small trouble, maybe I can recover, I tried go left as far was possible to get some space from the mangrove and after 3 (left and right) I decide I was too far in the left side and too close to the mangrove. It's time to put the kite in the water until I have space to do it, I recovered the kite and start "the walk of shame" back to the start point. In mean time I was walking the wind was getting less and less strong.
Lesson learned, get early in the spot, get the gear fixed before get in the spot, convince wife to put the washing machine early and 6m only if is blowing over 25kts all the time.
The good was meet the friends, make new friends and learn new lessons.Ready for the next time.
