The forecast held up and the wind filled in from 1pm. Fanged to Taka to be greeted by a typical ENE and a lot of chop but windy. Waited for low tide and things perked up so rigged 5.3 and 87 Black Box. The angle was very ENE so was starboard jumping which was good for a change. Tried a different tack and sailed up wind so I could get into the bigger waves that were breaking a bit further out in the middle of the beach. Turned out to be a good idea as I got some front side turns with a top turn with some torque. The wind picked so I took out my old trusty Mistral 84 twin for the first time in ages. The board still rips and is a lot faster than the BB and better for jumping, but the BB turns better in onshores. Did a couple of big jumps but seemed to have lost my looping mojo.
Fun session. Better than it looked!
