Today I decided only "mow the lawn" as Ticiana said. Yesterday after a very bad session I decided to watch some video about kiting in light wind. Taking of all the bla, bla, bla about big board and kites made for light wind, basically they said for we keep the kite high, don't put much pressure on the heels and try to go up wind in small bits. Ok, I have a plan!
Get in Shoal, tide coming in, wind around 11 maybe 12 but looks very good. Pumped the 12m Dice ask someone to launch, everything looks good, go to the water, wind with good pressure, I could kite well for about half hour, I start to thing maybe Shoal bay is not so bad. After this 30 minutes the wind start to be in patch again, one minute you are kiting well going upwind, happy! The next minute you are working the kite like a crazy, going downwind but you look around and you can see people jumping. Time to try the light wind technique!
Till now I don't know if it work, my problem was to keep the kite high I couldn't go upwind, but if I was working the kite a lot I couldn't go upwind as well. In the end I was more concern to try to go back to the sand bar than everything else, I was seeing myself in the mangrove as the guy yesterday. Look I got a good gust and I could get some height and could get back to the sand bar.
Ah! was not "mow the lawn" all the time, I tried some load on the face of the small waves, didn't worked very well but I could learn a few thing.
Other thing is I am controlling much better move the kite without pulling the bar, before I was using my tomb to hold the line on the bar, today I didn't. Still not so good.
The other thing I need to understand better is trimming the kite, All my kites if the wind is light and I leave full powered the kite flight backwards or I need to keep my bar far away, if the bar is far away I could bring close trimming the depower, but in light wind I should be full powered. I need to understand this better.
