I was leaving work to go home and I got a txt from Ticiana:
- Wind is on at Shoal. I am going after work.
Ok, is time to change plans and go to Shoal check it out.
When I get there the water was drying behind the sand bar, but have plenty on the channel, I looked again the camera and was showing 13kts gust 19kts, I thought 12 will be good, but the average was in 10's and 9's, after look for a while I decided pump the 9 but still thinking I was making a mistake
Nine was perfect, the wind was not that gust, was a bit choppy but manageable. I did some toe-side for both sides, but my toe side transition is not fluid as was before. I think I am turn the board before or maybe in the same time that I am turning the kite. Before I was waiting the kite start to pulling me to turn and I could felt the speed increasing and I could really carve the board, now I am turning the board but in an awkward position, like if my body still on top of the board.
Other thing I try was jump using the kite, I was not pulling hard the back hand as the Youtube videos teach, but I was pulling a bit the back hand, and I already felt some progress, still not the big high jumps I saw people do but I can feel more time-air.
My normal transitions started to be more consistent good, I can feel I have more control over the transition, the time to dive the kite, etc...
After a bit more than a hour I decided is time to go, the water start to dry out, and the wind start to be more gust.
Was a good day. Thanks Tici!!
