Again nothing much to say about this session.
This Summer the wind is not cooperating, but Orewa was around 14kts and was a sunny day, better try than be sorry.
I get there and start pumping the 12 meters Dice, the wind was on the limit to have some fun. One observation about Orewa, is not the first time I see people pumping small kites and when they get in the water have no wind, I have done this when I start to kitesurf here. I think what happen is people look the wind on the grass, there is a elevated place and the wind looks strong than really is. The camera in the Surf club is in a elevated place as well, in all other places I can kitesurf with 12 kts or more wind, but in Orewa I need at least 14 kts. I thought was because there have waves or current, but not I have been here with almost no waves and less than 14 kts I need to walk upwind after a couple of runs.
Let's go back to the session, after I have everything ready to go, Jordan and Wayne arrived, I start to kite, was more or less, in the gust was good, after the gust was enough to ride, I could get some height, play a bit with the waves and I jumping on the wave face :-) I was trying to load and pop just on the face of the wave but I couldn't the right time till I get one right, This time I have time to see my board going up, flying and landing, maybe I was 2 seconds jumping but for me was like a long time, as always I look around with a big small in my face and .... no body was looking :-(.'
After about 45 minutes the wind drop a bit and I was trapped in the "no way to go zone", do you know the place where you need maybe 2 clean runs to go upwind outside of the wave zone and you can't because everyone else is in the same spot trying to do the same as you and everyone are on the way of everyone. Yes, this is the " no way to go zone", after a while I give up and stopped waiting the wind pick up, latter on I tried again but the wind was worst.
Now is waiting the wind show up before the summer finish."
