WIND AT LAST!!! Forecast for E gale actually happened...apart from an actual gale. Got to the O to be greeted with a ESE picking up and some small sloppy waves. Fine with me so rigged 5.0 and busted out my trusty old Mistral 84 Twinny. The wind was up and down so was often overpowered and underpowered - often at the same time. The Mistral 84 is getting on a bit but that board still rips! Got some fun front side hacks in and best of all was stomping a forward loop. I thought I'd lost my mojo as hadn't really tried any forwards for 2 years due to the conditions. Love that feeling of getting inverted and dropping out of the sky!
The wind picked up so hauled out my custom 74L quad which I haven't used in over two years...mainly due to the conditions. Great to get that thing wet again. It was a sensitive to mast foot pressure as it has so little volume in the nose it goes down like an Italian in the penalty area.
Good crew out sailing mid week which was good to see.
What a difference getting proper X-on angle makes to the fun factor. Great session after the longest wind/wave drought in living memory!
