Cheltenham SUP club race day. There was a bit of a N breeze so we set the course to go around North Head to Devonport and back. Good turn out of the regulars and some newbies. I went out fast around North Head as it was choppy and the Jimmy Lewis M-14 is super stable so thought that was a way to get ahead of the pack. It worked until I hit the outgoing tide and slowed down while the rest paddled closer to shore and were less affected. Good tustle on the way back and gut buster to keep my place. Came in third which was ok seeing the JL is not a race board.
The debrief was back in the club rooms/man cave and it went on a bit longer than usual...1am!!
