Screw windsurfing in freezing winter!

Put the layers on and hit the mountian... first tracks for 2009.

Base 105cm, really stocked to be on the board again and really good conditions for this time of season. We were above the clouds (yeehaa).

Today had mod-strong SE winds that made things icy by the end of day on corners as the snow was blowing away.

Cold on the chair by end of day (the conversation got quieter!) but sunny as and so much fun :)

Who cares (kebabs were shut on mon, noooo!).... got burger at Powderkeg with a free pint (this is mondays FYI). More beers and a spa at the lodge capped off a sweet day :)

top carpark! must have been buggerall people there. No lines at the lifts is when Turoa gets awesome. Lift Lines there can suck big time.

Looks fun and brings back memories...ah the days before responsibilities.....

I used to work up there a few years back. If you ever went up on an epic Pow day and wondered who got those first tracks.... ;-)

Also they used to have staff nights, would get everyone off the Mt real quick at closing, then open up the Movenpick, Giant and High Noon lifts.... top to bottom high speed bomb runs with no one to dodge.

Was fun following the Ski Patrol and Ski school crew doing huge drops offs... everyone was just going full speed so you just had to keep up (as Troy says... disengaging the thinking).
