sometimes it is good if the wind is not following the forecast.. after missing the 4.7 weather during the day, i ignored the not so promizing evening forecast and drove down for a late session. unexpectedly i had 3 hours of good wind for my 5.3 and another test of my quadfin board!
did some small modifications (removal of the center box and the rear outside boxes, adjustment of the front boxes to 2.5 degrees).
the new angle allowed me to try my bigger (14&15cm) symmetrical fins with more toe-in in the front. was faster, but still not my favourite setup. think the reason is, that starboard has their frontfins in a less forward position than i have.
now after trying various fin setups with my board i definetely find the one with bigger rear fins better working (12asy+14sym). it is like a twinser with sidebiters for additional stability and drive - and it is fast, very fast!! for bigger days/smaller sails i could go down to a 10asy+13sym setup.
really enjoy the fast accelleration in the carves and can't wait to shred waves with this 'new' toy..
:-) chris
