Sugar Cove

Sugar Cove is just upwind a reach or two from Sprecks. There's a very small public access right of way from the street to the beach. A condo complex sits on the beach and is private property, but the beach is public access.

The launch at Sugar Cove can be very wind shadowed if the wind is very easterly at all. Shore break can also be challenging to navigate. But, the sailing here can be great and it's never crowded. Sail down wind to Sprecks or upwind a reach or two you'll find a couple of wave breaks. Spartan's is an outer reef break and is one of the bigger breaks on Maui's north shore. You'll often find Spartan's breaking when nothing else on the north  shore. Closer to shore near, just down wind of Baby Beach is a break called Secrets, aka Eskimo's. This breaks very close to shore, but can be a very fun little wave.
