When seeing the waves at the end of Bayly Rd you could really tell that the swell today was a good one. A few people were already out, mostly Auckland windsurfers. A morning crew was watching from the beach, it was full tide and was looking pretty good. It took me 10 minutes to get ready and I went out for 2 and half hours. On the first wave I was upwind the first section and went for it. Didn't really had a plan on what to do and how to do it but when I hit it, it was actually quite powerful and I went fairly high. I'm not too sure what happened then, was it a wind gust or the sprays from the wave but my kit went off and I let go. It got some airtime for sure (see photo on Kat's log)!!! I took me a wee while to get used to good waves again, finding the balance, after that the session was just awesome, waves after waves, only 3 or 4 people out, bottom turns, top turns... wicked. I tried a few aerials again but it hard to get back in the wave being pushed away by the offshore wind. Overall a super good session well worth 5 stars!
